The David Riley Award for Innovation in Business English and ESP 2010

David Riley was a teacher, writer and publisher of Business and ELT materials. He was renowned in the ELT world for his creation of materials for a range of publishers, big and small. You might not have met David in person but it is very likely that you will have used some of his excellent materials. Respected for his true understanding of the ELT classroom, and the motivation he inspired in his students, he used this experience to create truly innovative publishing projects.
David passed away in 2007 leaving a big gap in the ELT world. To remember him and his rare talent, BESIG and Macmillan are honoured to launch a new industry award - ‘The David Riley Award for Innovation in Business English and ESP’.
2008 was the inaugural year of the David Riley Award whose purpose is to recognise new talent and creativity in the field of Business and ESP publishing. We were pleased to announce that the winner of the first David Riley Award for Innovation went to Marie McCullagh and Ros Wright for Good Practice Communication Skills for the Medical Practitioner (Cambridge University Press).
The winner of the 2009 David Riley Award meanwhile was English for Law Enforcement by Charles Boyle and Ileana Chersan (Macmillan). Congratulations to the winners!
